Harlingen police violate their own police policy procedures to cover up for police Sergeant

According to an accident report released by the HPD through an open records request, Sgt. Miguel (mike) Garcia was involved in an auto accident with an Austin resident on West Harrison and E. Street at 8:30PM on November 6, 2009.

The collision occurred when Sgt. Garcia failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

Some sources say Sgt. Garcia allegedly may have been intoxicated.

We will ever know because the HPD failed to do a mandatory urine and blood test required when police officers are involved into auto accidents.

The Sgt. was not cited either another policy violation procedure.

Sgt. Garcia was operating an unmarked police vehicle.

The accident report was signed by Sgt. Gerald Manthey.

Both Sgt. Manthey and Harlingen police chief Danny Castillo should be held accountable for such gross negligence and violation of the police procedures.
