A 41 year old woman charged for failure to register as a sex offender after moving; A 41 year old man charged for the theft of auto parts, 2 other men charged earlier.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH SEX OFFENDER REQUIREMENTS / FELONY THEFT AUGUST 16, 2012
On Wednesday August 15, 2012, during the evening hours San Benito Police received information that a sex offender, wanted by this agency for failure to comply with “sex offender registration requirements,” was at the Emergency Room of Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
San Benito Police Officers proceeded to detain the female, 41 year old Danette Moreno Keith, who had a warrant issued by Justice Court after she violated her condition requirements when she moved from San Benito.
Danette Moreno Keith was arrested, transported to City Jail, and booked on the charge mentioned above.
Justice of the Peace David Garza arraigned her and set bond at $10,000. She is currently at the Cameron County Jail.
On Wednesday August 16, 2012 at 5:00 pm, San Benito Police Detectives arrived at a residence located on the 1000 block of Rio Grande Street where they made contact with 41 year old Antonio Varela.
Mr. Varela had an outstanding warrant of arrest for theft State Jail Felony issued by Justice Court in connection with the Theft of auto parts initially reported on August 3, 2012.
Two other suspects allegedly involved in the theft have been taken into custody by investigators since last week and were identified as Jose Manuel Ayala and Jose Roberto Abrego.
Antonio Varela was then placed under arrest and taken to City Jail.
Municipal Judge David Garza arraigned him and set bond at $10,000. Antonio Varela is currently at the Cameron County Jail.
