Store Owner Shot With A Shot Gun During Aggravated Robbery

On Sunday, January 26, 2012, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the west of 6 ½ West on Mile 7 North Weslaco, Texas in reference to an Aggravated Robbery. 

Upon arrival, Deputies met with victim who had injuries of a shotgun blast to his chest area. Victim being conscious reported that two males armed with weapons entered his business and demanded money. In the process of the robbery, victim felt an impact to his chest. Victim grabbed his .380 caliber handgun stored under the counter and fired towards the suspects. Suspects ran out the business and fled the area. 

Victim was transported to Knapp Medical Hospital where he was treated and released due to non serious injuries. 

Moments later, a male subject with a gunshot wound arrived at Knapp Medical Hospital. Male subject went through emergency surgery.  The hospital medical staff is expecting him to recover and is currently critical, but stable. 

Investigators are currently conducting investigation to determine if both incidents are related.
