Kenneth Benton is now banned from this web site

By his own admission, Kenneth is now a member of:

The Harlingen Old Guard Red Liners.

Like a fly in a bucket of milk.

He wants to keep the city of Harlingen stagnant.

Has la vista Kenneth.

  3. Anon says:

  4. Anonymous says:

What happened to the project that Benton was working on by Dixieland park lake ?

  5. Tony Chapa says:

I got the information from an article he sent me to publish.

    See part of it below:

In Harlingen we have two local parties, the old guard and the HEAT. I was a member of the HEAT but resigned as I do not like politics and no real issues or actions to move the community ahead seemed in near future. I resigned and started meeting with old guard members with hopes of being able to convince them to work with me on things important to the future of this city. Things the current commission majority had promised to move ahead but in almost three (3) years has failed to do.

If Kenneth is not with us, then he is against us.

If he is with the Old Guard Red Liners.

He wants to keep the city stagnant.

  6. Tony Chapa says:

Old Guarders have no rights here.

  7. Juan Jose Ortega says:

Kenneth are you saying that you are now an old guard member if so do you honestly believe that the old guard would be ready to fund any of your future campaigns . According to Tony Chapa you are now an old guard member because you want to convince them to listen to you and work with you in growing the city. Tony Chapa has written off the old guard as the ones who don’t want to grow the city. So, now you left Heat because they were behaving like the old guard who didn’t want to grow the city , but now you feel that your best chances are with the old guard. Sir , I guess you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Tony , Benton is saying that the new guard commissioners have now become the old guard because they also don’t want to grow the city at all. Please ask Benton what are his ideas to grow the city that neither the old guard or the new guard want to listen too. I think his best avenue is to declare himself as a third party independant. Maybe then Tony would be ready to let him into own graces and allow him to blog here in the future.

Poor Ken…he needs to get a real job and move on with his sad life….he keeps trying to make a mark in a town where even a rich man can not make a difference… this poor place is not going to be anything but a suburb of Mcallen …the airport will not grow and industry will not come…. just relax and watch the show…..its a great place to retire…..period…

I guess you didnt read the article in the Valley Morning Star, Rob. Harlingen had surpassed Mcallen in sales receipts and surpassed a bigger margin percent wise in sales from this time last year. You can’t say they made it up. It came straight from the state comptroller’s office. La Plaza Mall has not been at full occupancy for a while now. The outlet has also not been at full occupancy as well. Yet, last time I checked, there were several building permits being approved in Harlingen. There is more to come, only I can’t say it yet. My dad used to say , you don’t study to being an idiot. I will bring you some textbooks, or maybe you can join my college class. Jcpenney in Harlingen will be the FIRST

  10. mysteryshopper1 says:

Jcpenney in Harlingen will be the FIRST store in the rio grande valley to get remodeled into the new store design. All the “others” will follow in the future.

I will be happy to buy Kenneth’s lunch tomorrow at bible study.

  12. Anon says:

Benton is a no-where man, their is no way, investors are going to invest in North Commercer or the South F, corridor. Ken, you are living in a pipe dream. Bro, wake up, wake up.

    UPDATE! UPDATE! ROB!
It would appear that McAllen Miller Airport is also having some problems.
Delta Airlines announced Wednesday that as of May 1, it will no longer serve the Valley via the McAllen airport.
The airline said it needs a 75 percent passenger average and McAllen was only providing 60 percent.
    Guess where Delta is going?
I will buy you the tickets and you can watch our show.
