TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE APPROVES TEXAS CAPITOL FUND PROGRAM AWARD
AUSTIN, TX— On February 1st, the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) approved a Texas Capitol Fund program award for Willacy County in support of La Jarra Assisted Living, LLC. Representative J.M. Lozano (D-Kingsville), who supports the project in Willacy County, is a member of the House Committee on Agriculture and Livestock that has oversight and jurisdiction over the Texas Department of Agriculture.
“I am proud to announce the Texas Department of Agriculture has approved an economic development investment in Willacy County in the amount of $750,000 that will help create 38 full-time jobs and much needed infrastructure improvement for the community,” said Rep. Lozano.”Job creation and rural economic development have been at the forefront of my efforts while representing Willacy County and all of House District 43.”
The Project Summary Reads:
The purpose of this Economic Development project is to provide infrastructure activities in the form of water, sewer, and road, as well as engineering and administrative services in support of the Company. The location of the building and land is defined as the Company’s project site. The infrastructure activities shall allow the Company to begin or expand its operations in the County of Willacy, Texas. The Company is a provider of assisted living facilities. National objective of this CDBG economic development program is to primarily benefit LMI persons through permanent job creation and retention.
