Brownsville police department news briefs 1-30-12

34 year old man arrested and charged with sexual assault of a 12 year old female; 19 year old woman arrested and charged for Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information x 4. 

ARREST: 

On Friday, January 27, 2012. Guillermo Estrada Sandoval, age 34, was arrested pursuant to four (4) felony warrants for Agg. Sexual Assault of a Child (x3) and one count of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. 

The defendant subsequently confessed to the above-referenced charges. 

The suspect met the victim, age 12 at the time, during the summer of 2011 at a local church and then lured her several times by communicating with her via text.  

Suspects bond was set at $600,000 ($150,000 per count). 

The Brownsville Police Department is currently seeking additional victims. 

Update: 

The Christian church where the suspect met the victim is located at the 100 block of N. Central Ave Brownsville, Texas.  

They simply attended the same church and were not part of any special group or special services. 

ARREST:  

On Friday, January 27, 2012, Ana Luisa Garcia, age 19, was arrested at the Brownsville Police Department after she confessed in stealing four (4) birth certificates, a debit card, and other documents from an acquaintance’s handbag on 01/12/12, while riding in the victim’s vehicle. 

The defendant attempted to use the stolen debit card at a local Starbucks. 

Charges: Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information x 4. 

Bond set at $20,000 ($5,000 per count).
