CNBC STORE MCALLEN OPENS AT MCALLEN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The McAllen International Airport is pleased to announce the opening of the new CNBC Store McAllen operated by The Paradies Shops. A Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Celebration complete with food and entertainment will be held on Wednesday, October 20th at 5:00 p.m.  Everyone is invited to attend!

CNBC is the recognized world-leader in business news and provides real-time financial market coverage and business information to more than 340 million homes worldwide in the United States and Canada. In 2001, The Paradies Shops and CNBC entered into an exclusive licensing agreement to develop CNBC-branded news stores in airports throughout the United States.

The CNBC Store  offers a wide variety of exciting merchandise, including books and magazines, snacks, bottled water and soft drinks, electronics accessories, travel pillows and blankets, and other souvenir merchandise reflective of South Texas.  Additionally, it also offers a seating area and a portable electronic device charging station located immediately outside the store.

For passenger convenience, The Paradies Shops also operates McAllen News & Gift beyond the TSA security checkpoint at the end of the concourse and offers comparable merchandise.

“The Paradies Shops is a high quality, national airport retailer,” said Philip K. Brown, Director of Aviation. “We are delighted that The Paradies Shops has chosen the McAllen International Airport as its newest addition to their family.”

As part of The Paradies Shops family, the CNBC Store and McAllen News & Gift offer a unique program called Read & Return. First introduced in 2003, the Read & Return Program has become a hallmark of the Paradies brand.  Offered at all Paradies Shops that sell books, the program allows travelers to:

•Buy a book in McAllen

•Read it

•Return it (with a receipt) within six months of purchase at any Paradies Shops store in the United States

•Receive 50% of the purchase price back!

Books that are returned in good condition are then resold at half price. If the returned book is not in good condition, the book is donated to a local charity as part of the company’s commitment to encourage reading.

The Paradies Shops, based in Atlanta, Ga., operates more than 500 stores in over 70 airports and hotels across the United States and Canada, serving more than a half-billion customers each year. These stores include original, one-of-a-kind brands unique to individual airports, as well as national brands.  The Paradies Shops has been named “Best Airport Retailer” for 15 consecutive years.
