  1. King Canute says:

I have no respect for this cop, it is funny, how if it would have been anyone else, the district attorney, the state, the city, and everyone would be leeching of a poor citizens, probation dept, even crime stoppers get a piece of dwi offenders, but since it is cop, they give themselves breaks.

  2. James Rendt says:

    they give themselves breaks.

Then they drive down to the Whataburger with the whole family, granny too, but the officer in full dress uniform, and everybody gets free meals.

  3. King Canute says:

Let me see, a sex lawsuit, dwi arrest, domestic vilence arrest, demotions, overtime pay, and they say they are under paid. Free meals, free coffee or reduce prices, one was stealing from a vending machine, and God knows what else happens at that place, that it is not reported. Part time jobs in city uniforms. I say, they are over paid.

  4. Jamie Monroe says:

I used to work as a meter maid in Harlingen. At the time, though, we were not assigned uniforms. On top of obvious disrespect and ridicule from uniformed pollice officers, we also had to live through the humiliation of going for a cup of coffee, because that was all we could afford, and then the cops, who new us, would be making illicit degrading remarks about us to the waitresses. Thankfully, I am now on unemploylment benefits and have had the satisfaction of performing in some adult videos. Such is the life of a Harlingenite. Thinking about moving to Brownsville.

  5. LOOK; says:

WHATS NEW, SAME CRAP FROM THE POLICE DEPT AND THE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE.

  6. Jamie Monroe says:

That Michael Brad Fechner. Yes I do remember him. We just so happened to be at the same bar once, and he was talking inbecillically, and drunkenly, to the waitresses. I happened to walk in wearing a miniskirt that night and to everybodies surprise, he actually started to show me some respect. As the night progressed, he came and asked me to marry him. As desperate as I was at the time, I might have said yes. Had I not already known that he was married. And now, not even going to do any time. Typical.

  7. Another Day says:

Armando Villalobos’s dad used to work for the Harlingen PD there fore he does what he wants. what ever happened to the Kornagay and galbreath special procecutors? Friends of Vilalobos so not to worry. What a bunch of crap only in the tragic vallley can this crap happen. The law does not exsit in the valley it is the call of the Polititian.

  8. King Canute says:

Agree 100%, Another Day, you are so right, I can’t imagine this detective arresting anyone after getting special favors. He should quit, what we need is good honest police officers.

  9. And now for the rest of the story says:

And now for the rest of the story. Some are saying Fechner was set up. He had arrested the sister of a DPS trooper involved in his arrest just a few days before the incident. It sounds like retaliation to me.

  10. Nacho Libre says:

It’s worse than that. It is called Quid pro quo. When it fails to work and it hits the fan, watch out!!!

  11. James Rendt says:

He had arrested the sister of a DPS trooper involved

Somebody should look into this case, before the trooper is promoted to Ranger or Governor. Put his ass in a state penitentiary where it belongs.

  12. Eye on Harlingen says:

I’m just curious as to whether the department will discipline him. After all, by accepting the offer, he, technically, admits his guilt. The way I see it, termination is next.

In the legal world, that is.

  13. Tony Chapa says:

He may get a 3 day suspension if any.

  14. Reality says:

And now you’re telling us he was forced to DRINK alcohol & also, too plead guilty? C’mon

  15. anonymouse says:

    eye…
I agree. If you’re innocent, fight it! Entering a PTD is in essence a plea of guilty, similar to a nolo contendre (no contest). Those count as convictions also. Hey, but fech’s one of mayer’s boys and npw that he’s 102 (2nd in command), he’ll be taken care of. As in maybe 3 days off. Det. Cruz fought her dwi charge in court & was found not guilty. For that she received 3 days I believe. Fechner should get more, maybe even indefinite suspension? Probably not.

  16. No test says:

I don;t think there was a breat test. Fechner claims to have had only one drink but it would have been a swearing contest in court. If he was convicted he would lose both his dirivers license and his peace officers license. He took the safe way.
