DPS Increases Traffic Enforcement for Fourth of July Holiday

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will be increasing traffic enforcement for the Fourth of July holiday from Tuesday, July 3 through Wednesday, July 4. During this period, DPS Troopers will be looking for DWI, speeding, seat belt and other traffic violations.

New Fugitive Added to Most Wanted List, $7,500 Reward Offered for Suspect in El Paso Homicide

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Keith Antonio Boynes, 46, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list, and a cash reward of up to $7,500 is now being offered for information leading to his capture. Boynes is wanted for murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.

DPS Welcomes 80 New Highway Patrol Troopers

AUSTIN – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McCraw today was joined by members of the Texas Public Safety Commission (PSC) as the department commissioned 80 men and women as the state’s newest Highway Patrol Troopers.
