Alamo Men Sentenced to Prison for Smuggling Aliens

McALLEN, Texas – An Alamo man and an illegal alien living in Donna have been ordered to prison for their part in an alien smuggling conspiracy, announced U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Patrick. Daniel Medina-Acosta, 37, and Arturo Rocha-Guajardo, 37, pleaded guilty in November 2017.

Two Sentenced for Conspiring to Rob Drug Money from Undercover Agent

McALLEN, Texas – Two illegal aliens residing in Pharr have been ordered to federal prison for conspiring to interfere with commerce by threats or violence and to carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, announced U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Patrick. Rogelio Acosta-Moctezuma, 39, and Jose Israel Villa-Reyes, 28, admitted they conspired to rob an undercover agent. Acosta-Moctezuma also pleaded guilty to an unrelated charge of conspiring to export defense articles.

AUSTIN – Texas game wardens recently wrapped up a crackdown on illegal commercial fishing trade along the Texas-Mexico border in the Rio Grande Valley, citing nearly two dozen retail fish dealers for a variety of seafood industry related violations.

Reward Increased to $10,000 for Most Wanted Fugitive from Dallas

AUSTIN – The reward for Israel Aguirre, 36, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and this month’s featured fugitive, has been increased to $10,000 for information leading to his capture if the tip comes in during the month of May. Aguirre is wanted for murder in connection with a 2002 homicide in Kaufman County. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.
