DPS Seeks to Solve 1981 Murder of Real Estate Agent

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking for the public’s help in solving the 1981 murder of Virginia “Ginger” Freeman, 40, in Brazos County, and a reward up to $6,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible, if the tip is received before next month’s featured case is announced. The Brazos County Crime Stoppers also is offering a reward up to $1,000 associated with this case.

Brownsville Man Sent to Prison on Firearms Charge

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A 40-year-old Brownsville resident has been ordered to federal prison following his conviction of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Abe Martinez. Isaac Pedraza pleaded guilty Jan. 11, 2017.

Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in Harris County

AUSTIN – Billy Wayne Gilliland, 58, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, is now in custody after being captured April 14 in Harris County. Gilliland, a member of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas gang, was wanted for parole violation and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle. The arrest was the result of a tip, and a reward up to $7,500 will be paid.
