The church of Sardis was priding itself in the many works that it was involved with. Perhaps their weekly bulletin was very impressive to the visitor that the visitor could not wait to join in and become members. They thought that they were alive. Brownsville police remind all motorists about school safety next week

Brownsville Police would like to remind everyone that school starts on Monday and traffic will be higher. We will be out and about enforcing school zone regulations such as speeding and cell phone use which carries a fine of $225 dollars.

My old friend, 78 year old Don Lee missing in Harlingen

He was reported missing by his family yesterday afternoon near the Lowes Store. Lee had some medical conditions and his family is concerned about his health and safety.

Harlingen police department news briefs 8-24-12

2 San Benito men arrested for possession of marihuana after reported smoking the weed in the from porch of a Harlingen home; 2 men 1 from Combes and 1 from Harlingen charged for felony driving while intoxicated with a minor passenger, possession of marihuana in a drug free zone; A 28 year old man charged for burglary of a habitation after breaking into a home and taking several household items.

Two more 8 Liner Parlors raided by Brownsville police

A man and a woman were arrested. They were charged for keeping a gambling place, gambling promotion and possession of gambling devices. The man was also charged for evading and resisting arrest.

Five men arrested in Harlingen

A 16 year old juvenile tasered by Harlingen police charged with aggravated assault against a public servant

The 16 year was creating a disturbance at his mother’s home and was armed with a pocket knife. He was tasered by Harlingen police after lunging at an officer with the knife. The juvenile was taken to the hospital to remove the taser gun probes.

IDEA Public Schools Prepares to Open IDEA McAllen

McALLEN(August 24, 2012) – IDEA Public Schools, a growing network of open-enrollment, tuition-free K-12 campuses serving 13,000 students across the Rio Grande Valley, is preparing to open its doors to its newest campus, IDEA Academy and College Prep McAllen. IDEA McAllen is the 12th campus in the Rio Grande Valley and the first in the City of Palms.
