A 26 year old Brownsville man was arrested and charged form theft of a motor vehicle after he attempted to cross it into Mexico; A 17 year man arrested and charged for burglary of a motor vehicle; A 19 year old Edinburg man arrested and charged for burglary of a habitation and interference with an emergency call.

City Offices Closed On Fourth of July; Street Closures Planned for Fireworks Show

In observance of the 4th of July holiday, all City of McAllen offices will be closed on Wednesday July 4, 2012. City offices will return to their normal hours on Thursday July 5, 2012.

Brownsville police department bicycle patrol

The Brownsville Police Department will re-establish its bicycle patrol unit starting today. This popular detail will call for four officers to primarily patrol the downtown area; however officers may be deployed to other areas of the city as needed.
