Edinburg, Texas — Designated hitter Mike Goss drove in the game-tying and winning runs to lead the McAllen Thunder to victory over the Abilene Prairie Dogs on Thursday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium by score of 5-4. The Prairie Dogs (5-9) got on the board courtesy of Wilson Batista triple and a throwing allowed him to score the game’s opening run in the seventh inning.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking for the public’s help in finding a woman wanted in connection with the March 17 murder of a teenager in Ennis (Ellis County). Jennifer Samantha Puente, 18, is accused in the death of 15-year-old Moriah Gonzales, whose burned body was left on the side of the road in Ennis. Another suspect in the crime was arrested March 24.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Two men have admitted their guilt in the trafficking of cocaine in Weslaco, Texas, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today. Jose Santos Casas-Gonzalez Sr., 51, entered a plea of guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 29 kilograms of cocaine as well as conspiracy to commit money laundering before Senior U.S. District Judge Hayden Head today. Rogelio Mata-Ramirez, 50, pleaded guilty last month to the cocaine conspiracy.
