Customs and Border Protection at Hidalgo Seizes Over Half Million Dollars in Methamphetamine, Child Smuggler, Imposters and Fugitives Arrested

HIDALGO, TEXAS—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations at the Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridge seized over 40 pounds of methamphetamine, arrested a child smuggler, arrested two imposters and also arrested five individuals wanted on state/local arrest warrants this weekend.

CUELLAR TO PARTICIPATE IN HOMELAND SECURITY HEARING EXAMINING U.S. BORDER PATROL’S NEW STRATEGIC PLAN

Key section of West Owassa Road to be expanded under agreement by Edinburg, Pharr, Hidalgo County

A vital expansion of West Owassa Road between South Jackson Road and the U.S. Expressway 281 frontage road is one step closer to reality following a Tuesday, May 1 decision by the Edinburg City Council to participate in local share-costing of a planned $4.2 million roadway improvement – primarily funded by the state – that will help promote economic development and public safety in southwest Edinburg and northwest Pharr.
