HOUSTON – Manuel Gomez Barba, of Baytown, Texas, has been sentenced to 100 months for exportation of firearms, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today along with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) acting Special Agent in Charge Gary Orchowski and Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) Special Agent in Charge Robert Rutt.

50 year old Lyford man convicted of aggravated assault; 40 year old San Benito man convicted for possession of cocaine; 52 year old Matamoros man convicted for possession of a controlled substance; 2 Hidalgo County men convicted for possession of marihuana.

On Saturday, January 28, 2012, Eleazar Benavides, age 63, was arrested after he approached a woman in the parking lot of the HEB on Central Blvd and attempted to get a hold of her four (4) month old infant that she had in a baby stroller.
