JURY CONVICTS LOUISIANA MAN TOWING MORE THAN 4000 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA UNDER LOAD OF MESQUITE

(LAREDO, Texas) – After two days of trial and approximately two hours of deliberation, a federal jury has convicted Albert Addison Bush, of conspiring to and possessing with intent to distribute more than 4000 pounds of marijuana, United States Attorney José Angel Moreno announced today.

U.S. Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (TX-15) spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives today to update the Members of Congress of the flooding in Deep South Texas and to thank them for providing Federal resources to improve infrastructure along the border. Congressman Hinojosa demonstrated through aerial photographs, offered by Hidalgo County, the areas where levees have held back the Rio Grande River thereby protecting cities from flooding. He also showed in comparison, flooded areas where no levees existed, adding that more work is needed.

One more police officer fired at the Harlingen airport

This time the police officer was fired for doing her job. This is the third police officer fired in 3 months. The officer was fired by the airport manager Michael Browning.

HARLINGEN, Texas – At least one city leader here is still looking for answers surrounding the curious law enforcement case involving one Carlos Levon Anderson, a 39-year-old karate instructor who was free for days after being indicted on allegations that he had molested a handful of minors.

Public hearing scheduled for Stuart Place Road in Harlingen

The Texas Department of Transportation Pharr District (TxDOT) and City of Harlingen will hold a public hearing to discuss the proposed Stuart Place Road project in Cameron County. The hearing is schedule for Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Stuart Place Elementary located at 6701 W. Business 83 in Harlingen, Texas 78552. The hearing will begin with an Exhibit Viewing Period from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm and a formal presentation will follow at 6:00 pm. This hearing will allow the public the opportunity to view the project details and provide comments.
