AMARILLO, Texas—The Edinburg Roadrunners allowed 19 hits in a 14-6 loss to the Amarillo Dillas Wednesday night at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa. The game was called after seven innings due to rain.

SAN ANGELO – Leading 4-1 after seven and a half innings, the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings held off a late push by the San Angelo Colts to win 4-3 Wednesday at Foster Field.

Veterans meet with State Representatives

Twelve members of the Veterans Alliance and four members of the Ladies Auxiliary met with Texas State Representative District 39, Armando Mando Martinez. The meeting centered around veterans request for his commitment to help move the veteran’s efforts to make a Veterans Affairs hospital a reality. Veterans asked Mando to sponsor legislation that would ask that monies be provided to help in a joint effort between the federal and state governments. He told the Veterans that the issue has been around too long at the federal level and that he and all the other local legislators were committed to help. He will identify sources and submit legislation around November. He also told the veterans that he can help them get the House Research Committee to help in preparing any reports and/or ideas to submit to other Texas legislators to gain support.

These offenders are now fugitives and are considered a threat to our communities. Some of the victims of these sex offenders were children.

DALLAS — At the 2010 Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Annual Conference being held this week in New Orleans, Trent Touchstone, Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Texas (NDTX), was presented the Outstanding Individual Contribution to a Violent Crime Task Force Award, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the NDTX. The award was presented this afternoon by Acting Deputy Attorney General Gary G. Grindler, before nearly 1000 attendees from the Justice Department, including U.S. Attorney’s Offices, the ATF, the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service; the International Associate of Chiefs of Police, the National District Attorneys’ Association; and PSN task forces from across the country.

Hidalgo, Anzalduas International Bridges Remain Open; Anzalduas Opens 24 Hours A Day to Northbound Traffic

To accommodate an increase in northbound crossings (Mexico to U.S.), the Anzalduas International Bridge, south of Mission, opened 24 hours a day to northbound traffic last Friday and will remain open 24 hours a day to northbound traffic until further notice. Normal hours of operation will resume for southbound traffic, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
