Veterans Alliance still after Shinseki
A small group of veterans met at Mi Rancho Restaurant in Harlingen to discuss plans to travel to Austin to lobby the State of Texas for support in their efforts to obtain a full Veterans Affairs hospital in the valley. They will present to the Veterans Alliance of the Rio Grande Valley their plans to insure that there are indeed appointments made to meet with different Directors of different programs that will be working with the new Proposition 8 Legislation. Veterans worked hard for the passage of this new law. The first step will be to meet with Armando Mando Martinez (Dist 39) at his office in Weslaco, on July 14, 2010, to ask for his full support in setting up appointments with those individuals that he recommends or suggests that are important enough for veterans to meet with.
