The big gringo Boss man Chris Boswell has an institution of racism built into him

It started with his father who did not allow Mexicans into his house. Mexican customers at the Boswell dealership were treated like second rate citizens. Boswell’s legacies are all over San Benito.

The Harlingen city commissioners dragging their feet selecting the top candidates for city manager

Nothing was resolved in last night’s executive session.
The subject is to be discussed again at the next regular meeting July 21, 2010.

ELIZARDE, THE TURNCOAT, NOT WELCOMED!

Armando “El Marisco” Elizarde is a coconut. He thought by performing as the White Establishment’s favorite Mexican he could pocket his pilón.

Jerry Deal apologizes for Korri Marra again

Boys, this is a lame, lame response by Commissioner Marra. She knew her family responsibilities before she sought the office, did she not? City business taking a backseat to her business dealings? That will never work for the city.

BOSWELL, MARRA LACK LEADERSHIP SKILLS!

As we have been noting in recent weeks, Harlingen is enduring one of the worst periods in its history.

ARMANDO ELIZARDE…STUPIDITY, COST HIM

Say what you will, Armando Elizarde deserves no sympathy. Like other developers before him who have tried to strong arm their way into the city, Elizarde’s luck finally ran out. In the past, Elizarde figured he could circumvent city codes and circumstances by kowtowing to the establishment. It worked for sometime. He got a variance in one instance when he built his subdivision on the north side of the loop. City growth plans called for 13th street to continue north. Elizarde was able to finagle a sweetheart deal when he got old guard commissioners to not pursue plans to take 13th street north. Drive 13th St and you will find it ends at the loop. His variance disrupted city plans, and protected his subdivision.

Special message to Pat Elizondo

Pat, I wish I could agree with some of what you posted but all in all HPD needs a major over haul. Ever since the Border Patrol incident, it has been nothing but down hill. There is no direction from the top!

Missing in action or DOA?

Harlingen city Commissioner Kori Marra has missed two very important City Commission meetings this week alone. And if she fails to show on Friday will have missed 2 of 3 very critical budget meetings at a time when Harlingen is facing its worst revenue shortfall in decades, due to dwindling sales tax revenue.
