CITY OF HARLINGEN: BE CAREFUL FOR WHAT YOU WISH FOR
The excitement over this new project coming to town may be premature. Not being one to rain on the parade, many questions have gone unanswered. The prospect of 1,000 jobs is unrealistic. This is supposed to be a big store, and if true, the other stores I have visited do not have 1,000 employees. It’s more like a 100 or so. Also, these are not high paying jobs, these are retail sales clerks making minimum wage.
